$ 32 BILLION is the estimated global annual profits of human trafficking, the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. After drug dealing, human trafficking is tied with the illegal arms industry the second largest criminal industry in the world today.
2.5 BILLION people are in forced labour (including sexual exploitation) at the given time as result of trafficking. Approximately 80% of human trafficking victims are women and girls.
1.2 BILLION are trafficked each year.
161 COUNTRIES are reported to be affected by human trafficking by being a source, transit or destination, affecting every continent and type of economy.
1.4 BILLION people which is approximately 56% of all human trafficking are in Asia and the Pacific and India more than 200,000 people are trafficking into, within, or through out the country every year.

“Human Trafficking is defined as the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs”
